It is an Apostolic Church, with its deep Egyptian roots stemming from the evangelism of St. Mark the pure evangelist, apostle, and martyr; the beholder of God. St. Mark is regarded the first pope and patriarch of Alexandria and of the Coptic Orthodox Church. Subsequent popes sit on St. Mark's throne and shephard over his See.

With its long, enriched, and extensive history, the Coptic Church continues to carry her roots in Her rites, tradition, and dogma.

There was a need to categorize and organize the information available regarding the Coptic church's rites, hymns, theology, spirituality, and history; especially in the English language. Coptic-Resources aims to fulfill this objective and become the central hub for digital Coptic material.
